DOE-Idaho is seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil) or Physics to work in the field of Nuclear/Criticality Safety. This is an educational enhancement and career building opportunity and is a full time, paid position during 12 weeks in the summer and part-time, paid position during the remaining 40 weeks of the year.
The initial appointment for this position will be for one year under the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP), with the opportunity to be converted to the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) after the first year. Further conversion to a full-time career/career-conditional appointment may follow at the completion of academic and work experience requirements.
Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be willing to complete specific coursework toward an MS in Nuclear Engineering while working with DOE-ID in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
